Piling and Deep Foundation

Shoring and Deep Foundation machines are essential to designing and constructing structural elements to transfer low-bearing capacity soils encountered in the sub-surface to transfer the building loads from the above surface to more vigorous underlying earth or rock bedding layers.

How It Works

A deep foundation is a pile or soil improvement solution designed to carry the loads of a structure down to stronger soil layers below. They are used where shallow soils on site are not strong enough to support the proposed structure on traditional shallow footings. Deep foundation spreads the load out over more soil vertically, increases the soils carrying capacity, and/or end bearing on stronger soil strata at depth.

Large Diameter Piles - LDP

Large Diameter Piles (LDP), the most common technology worldwide, is performed with telescopic Kelly Bar and drilling tools such as auger, bucket, core barrel. It allows drilling piles in any type of soil. The LDP technology typically consists of a concrete pile with reinforcing elements such as H-pile, I-Beam, or rebar cage being installed before or after the concrete is placed.

Continues Flight Auger - CFA

Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) technology uses fixed piles with the versatility of applying drilled piles. The CFA piles method is performed with partial soil removal; thus, lateral soil compression increases the final load-bearing capacity of the soil.

Micro-Piling

A micro-pile is a small diameter (305mm or less) friction pile that is bored or drilled and can be installed at an angle depending on soil condition and application to accommodate axial and lateral loads. Micro-piles may be cased or uncased.

Once installed, the primary reinforcement element and cementitious grout transfer the load into the bearing soil or rock layers. Load-carrying capabilities depend on the bond quality between the primary reinforcement, grout, and the surrounding soil.

Jet Grouting

The Grouting techniques have been developed for soil consolidation and waterproofing applications. Soil is mixed with cementitious grout or specialty chemical agents on-site; utilizing injection under a high-pressure process to improve soil properties, strengthen loosen particles, and form a homogeneous and continuous mix in a non-polluting manner.

With a Jet Grouter, we are able to achieve a more efficient process. We are able to obtain columns of consolidated soil in a range of 600mm and 3000mm in diameter using drilled holes, in general, not larger than 180mm to 200mm in diameter. An expanded range of capability to pre-existing overpass foundations, boulders, and rock layers. Utilizing a lightweight and small-sized drill rigs in the small working area footprint.
